We’ve had a busy fall and early winter, what with getting our bees safely put to bed, and then working through some Farmers’ Markets and Christmas craft shows.
We had a bumper year for honey, producing our much-sought amber honey, Harvest Moon, and a large amount of our early summer Berry Blossom.
Happily, we can tell you that our honeys took top honors at the B.C. Honey Producers Association honey contest in October. We won first place in Amber class for our Harvest Moon – the fourth year in a row. Berry Blossom won first in Golden class for the third year in a row. And we also took first in both Chunk Honey and Frame Honey.
We’ve been busy making lots of our popular hand salves (including the ever-popular Bee Nuturing), lip balms (with our Bee Merry back in stock in time for the holidays) and a range of pure beeswax candles.
We created some special holiday gift ideas as well, including a trio of muth bottles filled with three different types of honey: Harvest Moon, Berry Blossom and Fireweed. They’re packaged in hand-crafted wooden crates and come in two different sizes, 4oz and 8oz bottles. The fireweed honey comes from a friend of ours in the Kootenays, where he harvested the honey off Nancy Green Summit. It’s a delightful flavour, light but packed with taste!
As we head in to the last month before Christmas, here’s an update of markets where you can find us.
